Kitty Corner BLOCK E-9

1. From dark blue fabric, cut 4 squares 2½˝ × 2½˝ (A) and 1 strip 1¼˝ × 12˝ (C).

2. From light beige fabric, cut 1 square 2½˝ × 2½˝ (A), 16 squares 1½˝ × 1½˝ (B), and 2 strips 1⅛˝ × 12˝ (D).

3. Refer to Quick-Pieced Square-On-Point Units (Air Castle, Step 4) to make 4 quick-pieced square-on-point units with the dark blue A squares and the light beige B squares.

NOTE: If you prefer, use the B-3: Christmas Eve foundation paper piecing pattern C instead. Adapt colors and adjust your fabric cutting accordingly.

4. Sew the 2 light beige C strips to opposite sides of the dark blue D strip. Press toward the dark blue fabric. Use a rotary cutter to crosscut the strip set into 4 strips 2½˝ wide.

5. Sew 2 of the square-on-point units to opposite sides of a horizontal strip unit to make the top row. Press. Repeat to make the bottom row.

6. Sew 2 vertical strip units to opposite sides of the light beige A square to make the center row. Press.

7. Sew the 3 rows together. Press.
